Stacy K. Luell is a shareholder with the firm. She concentrates her practice in civil defense litigation with emphasis in insurance defense and coverage litigation. Stacy worked as a law clerk for Judges Michael Sullivan and William Haase of the First Judicial District of Wisconsin. Stacy was recognized as a Rising Star in the Wisconsin Superlawyers peer survey in 2008, 2010, 2011 and 2013.
Stacy has extensive appellate experience arguing over forty appeals before both the Wisconsin Court of Appeals and the Wisconsin Supreme Court. Stacy has also participated in oral arguments before both of these appellate courts.
Stacy has extensive experience in coverage litigation. Her coverage work includes review of various types of policies, including commercial general liability, homeowners, farm owners, errors and omissions, commercial auto, condo association policies, personal auto, equine liability, and specialty risk lines. Over her 20 years of practice, more than 60% of her litigation experience has been coverage litigation. She has argued over five appellate cases specifically related to coverage, including the published decisions of Kender v. Auto Owners Insurance Co. and Olson v. Farrar. Stacy was also involved with the environmental coverage litigation related to the massive Superfund clean-up of PCBs in the Fox River. Stacy has not only been involved in litigation of coverage disputes but has worked with insurance companies to draft endorsements and other policy forms.
